Blogging from the Bowl Game

We are about 20 minutes from kickoff and the Navy Corps of Cadets just left the field, IMPRESSIVE! A couple of thousand “Middies” in formation shouting and chanting N-A-V-Y over and over again. Here’s an interesting fact I learned this week while chatting with a few Naval Academy freshmen in the Gas Lamp District here in San Diego. There will be around 2500 Navy Cadets here this week. The Naval Academy pays for their airfare to get here to San Diego and the Grand Hyatt was offering $60 per night room rates for all Navy students who made the trip...If you ask me, they can’t do enough for these kids who will soon be serving our country.....

Now we have all sorts of Holiday ballons on the field with the Utah marching band, it looks like a poor man’s Macy’s Parade (a very very poor man’s).....

Back with the coins toss and the kickoff in a bit…
