Friday Blogging
It’s a busy Friday around these parts....
Soccer fans in SLC today is a somewhat big day...MLS Superdraft 2008. While an important day for MLS franchises, it’s certainly not a day that many soccer fans have circled on their calandars. The reason is simple: The level of play in US Collegiate Soccer just simply isn’t good enough to directly impact teams immediately. Every now and again a team will find an impact player (see Chivas 2 years ago with Kljestan and Bornstein), but it’s more likely that RSL and other clubs will find “developmental talent”. That said check back here later today for my thoughts and listen to the Bill Riley Show this afternoon to hear from RSL’s Top Pick and Head Coach Jason Kreis.
Utah and BYU are roughly 24 hours away from their first meeting this season. The Utes are coming off their disappointing loss at SDSU on Wedneday. A game they had in had at halftime. BYU is a bigger mystery right now. What has happened to Dave Rose’s team that looked so good in November and December, but can’t shoot straight in January. Both teams need this one, but I think it’s a much bigger game for BYU, who can’t afford a 4 loss in 6 games. We’ll have that game for you tomorrow on KALL 700 Sports!
Back a bit later on…
